Abstract

In August 2014 in the city of Bogor there was an inflation of 0.34 percent or an increase in consumer price index (CPI) to 113.75 From 7 CPI cities in West Java recorded all cities experiencing inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Cirebon of 0.91 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in the city of Sukabumi by 0.25 percent.

Inflation is due to the general rise in prices indicated by the increase in the index. Changes in Bogor City index were: foodstuffs 0.47 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group at 0.18 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.19 percent; clothing 0.10 percent; health group -0.07 percent; education, recreation and sports 2.80 percent, transportation, communication and financial services group -0.50 percent.

The inflation rate for calendar year 2014 is 2.56 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2014 to August 2013) is 2.79 percent.
