Abstract

In January 2015 in the city of Bogor there was a deflation of 1.17 percent or an increase in consumer price index (CPI) to 117.10. The entire city of CPI in West Java recorded deflation. The highest deflation occurred in Bogor city of 1.17 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in the city of Bandung by 0.02 percent.

Deflation occurs because in general there is a decline in prices indicated by the decline in the index. Changes in Bogor City index are: foodstuff category -1,85 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco by 0.61 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.20 percent; clothing group 0.20 percent; health group 1.67 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.02 percent, while transportation, communication and financial services group -5.90 percent. The inflation rate / deflation in calendar year of January 2015 is -1.17 percent and the year-on-year inflation / deflation rate (January 2015 to January 2014) is 4.81 percent.
